Specialized translation
The first step is creating a draft of your book in Spanish.
My work starts with achieving an overall understanding of the original, so that I can transfer its meaning into Spanish as faithfully as possible.
Besides, I pay special attention to all scientific content: I stop to fully understand the concepts so that I can choose the most suitable term to convey them.

Precise and coherent
The second step is to check the translation against the original work, to make sure that all content has been transferred to the target language correctly and coherently.
This is when I check the translation thoroughly against the original text, and I make sure that:
I have not introduced any errors
I have not omitted any content
I have succeeded in maintaining the original meaning precisely
I have used the correct terminology, consistently throughout the book.
This last item is critical for two reasons: the typical length of books, and the precision that science requires.
A careful process
A book is a lengthy project, which is why it is essential to maintain a consistent overview of the work as a whole throughout the process.
Chapters cannot be translated independently, because every decision made at the beginning will still need to be valid at the end of the book.
Hence, it is a must to work on the book as a whole if the final result is expected to work properly in the target language.
The process below allows me to obtain a result of the highest quality, while working with you to make sure that the translation of your book is as good as the original version:
At the end of this workflow, I deliver the translation so that you can check the result and share any comments or request the changes that you deem necessary.

Natural and fluent
The third step is to make sure that the translation doesn’t seem a translation.
Every language has different conventions. In order for your book to read naturally in Spanish, I will put aside the original version and I will work with the text coming from the previous step until it reads like a book originally written in Spanish.
The aim is to make the new text read natural, clear, and fluent, as well as obtaining a reading experience that is coherent throughout the book.

Independent revision
The final step is to subject the translation to an external revision.
An independent second look will identify any issues that may have been overlooked during the translation process.
Once received, I assess the changes the reviewer has proposed and I include the ones that improve the text, while making sure that those changes do not alter the scientific meaning of the original.
